Meeting Donal Skehan

Saturday, 16 November 2013
Hi guys!

It was my birthday last week and one of my presents was tickets to see Donal Skehan on his Homecooked Tour. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is an amazing chef from Ireland and he is self taught! I think that's incredible. I have wanted to meet Donal for a while now so I was so excited for the night.

Oh his face :') | Photo by me

It was on last Saturday night and it was so much better than I had expected. Donal is exactly the same as he is on the tv on his show Kitchen Hero. He is hilarious and he got the audience so involved in what he was doing. It was a small venue so it was more cosy. Donal cooked five dishes which were Pad Thai, Fish Tacos, Tiramisu, Brioche French Toast with berries and Nutella and Cheesy Ham Hock Spinach Crepes. I think my favourite would have to be the Brioche French Toast with Berries and Nutella! Donal also got the audience involved in the show as he did an egg whisking contest and a pancake flipping competition. Donal nearly choked us all when he was cooking the Pad Thai as all the spices and things in were so strong.

Me at Donal's work area

Donal brought his own kitchen table on the tour
After the show, there was a meet and greet with Donal. I went near the end because I needed Donal to do me a favour. When it was my turn, Donal asked me if I enjoyed the show and general chit chat while he signed my cookbook. He was so sweet and nice. I had asked him earlier that day if he would sign a noticeboard for me for a company we set up in school. He agreed and he delivered! I spent about 10 minutes with him which was incredible.

Me and Donal!

Harry Potter Tag ♡

Friday, 18 October 2013
Hey guys!

In the last few months, I have become obsessed with Harry Potter. I've always liked it and watched the movies but I've never really realised how amazing it is. So now I'm addicted to everything Harry Potter!
Anyway, lets get on with the questions!

1) Favourite book?
My favourite book would have to be the Prisoner of Azkaban or the Goblet of Fire. The book version of the Prisoner of Azkaban is way better that movie! The book has so much more detail in it!

2) Favourite movie?
My favourite movie by far is the Deathly Hallows Part Two with the Goblet of Fire at a close second.

3) Least favourite book?
I don't actually think I have one but if I had to choose, it would be the Chamber of Secrets.

4) Least favourite movie?
I think the Order of Phoenix would be my least favourite. The book is actually way better than the movie. The movie leaves out so many details.

5) Parts of the books/movies that made you cry?
I didn't cry at any part but if I was going to cry at some part, it would have to be Snape's death and his memories.

6) Twilight vs Harry Potter?
Okay I literally don't even have to think about this answer! Definitely Harry Potter.

7) If you could date any character who would it be?
Definitely Harry!

8) Favourite character?
Hermione! She is just amazing at magic even though she is Muggle born!
She would be so handy to have around too!

9) What would your patronus be?
It would hilarious if it was a penguin! A deer would be quite cute too!

10) If you could choose between the resurrection stone, the cloak of invisibility or the elder wand, what would you choose?
Cloak of Invisibility! It would be great to be able to go invisible even though it would be great to have the most powerful wand in the world!

11) Are you upset with any parts left out in the film?
Well I think the movies would make a bit more sense if some of the parts from the books were in it because having seen the movies before reading the books, I didn't really understand what was going on at some parts.

12) What house would you be in?
Gryffindor!

13) Favourite Subject?
I think Potions or Defence Against the Dark Arts with Professor Lupin

14) Favourite professor?
Definitely Professor Lupin!

15) If you could meet any member of cast who would it be?
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson

16) If you could do one spell in real life, what would it be?
Accio because it would be so easy to find things or Reparo!

17) Have you played any of the video games?
I played the Goblet of Fire on Nintendo DS a few times.

18) If you were on the Quidditch team, what would your position be? ;
I would probably be the Seeker

19) Were you happy with the ending?
Yes I thought it was so good! At least it showed how their lives with be in the future

20) How much does HP mean to you?

I actually don't know! It's just fantastic! I can't even explain. I just wish the series was never ending!

Thanks for reading!

Collective Shopping Haul | Primark, Lush and Easons

Sunday, 25 August 2013
Hey guys!

The other day I went shopping to Dublin with my friend. I bought a nice amount of stuff so I thought I would share it with you.

Firstly, I went to Easons because they had a Summer reading offer on and I wanted to see if they had The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I saw that John Green's books had the Summer reading offer which was buy three books get the cheapest free. I bought The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines. I've already finished reading The Fault in Our Stars which is such an amazing book! I recommend that if you haven't read it yet, go read it! I'm halfway through reading Looking for Alaska and it is amazing already.

Photo by me | Books were 8.99 euro each

After Easons, we went to Primark. In Ireland, we call it Penney's but in the UK it's called Primark. I didn't really see a lot of things that I liked in Primark. There were a few things but they weren't in my size. I ended up buying a makeup bag, a nail varnish, a necklace, a t-shirt and a crop top.

The moment I saw this makeup bag, I thought it was adorable. I just love the little studded ears and the red bow. I was a bit afraid that all of the makeup that I like to wear daily and some extra wouldn't all fit in but it can fit everything I wanted it too and more! I'm really happy with it and to make it even better, it was only four euro. What a bargain!

I have a lot of nail polishes but I actually didn't own a black one. I really this brand too because even though it is cheap, the nail varnish stays on for ages and doesn't chip much. The price has gone up slightly from 2.49 to 2.75 I'm not too sure what the "Rubber Effect" is yet though. Check out my blogpost on nail varnishes here!

I also bought this really cute necklace. Mustaches are like a big trend now and I think this is so cute. It will look really nice with a collar shirt and it goes with everything because it's black. This cost 3 euro.

I really like this little crop top that I bought. It has a two chains that go along the neckline and it is lace at the front. The only thing is that it is quite see through at the front. It was seven euro.

I saw this little orange t-shirt as soon as I walked in the door as it was on a rack that said "One Euro". I love bargains so I went straight for that rack. This t-shirt was three euro reduced to one euro. I just couldn't pass it and you can never have enough t-shirts.

After Primark, I really wanted to go to Lush. I had never been in any of their stores before and I had always heard people raving about how amazing their stuff was. There are none of these stores near where I live so I couldn't not go in. I restrained myself from buying the whole shop and only bought two things.

First I picked out this little guy. I think he is adorable and he smells amazing! He's a little bath bomb. He's called "Ickle Baby Bot". I can't wait to use him! It was 2.75.

I then got this bath bomb. This one is bigger than the robot. It's called "Space Girl". It's shaped like a planet or something. I really love the smell of this one as it's quite strong. This one has little red glitters in it that go into the water and float around. This one was also 2.75.

I hope you guys liked seeing what I bought!

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 4

Friday, 16 August 2013
Hey guys!

Favourite Disney Song

I have a lot of favourite Disney songs because they are just amazing so I had to break down my favourites. I got down to just four. It was very difficult to get down to four because I love most of them.

My first favourite song is Colours of the Wind from Pocahontas. I just really like the meaning inside the song. It's all about respecting nature and the things in it. I love how Pocahontas is trying to show John Smith about nature speaking to her people.

My next favourite song is Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. Ariel has found loads of gadgets from the "human" world and she wants to be a part of it so she can use these things. She may have all of these things but she wants more. I like how catchy the song is.

My third favourite Disney song is Circle of Life from The Lion King. I think this song really sets the story for the Lion King as it shows all of the animals in the jungle together and celebrating the birth of their future King of the Jungle.

My final favourite Disney song is Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid. I just love this song and it's so catchy. I like the tune of the song and the sounds. I love how all the sea creatures join in with the song.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 3

Thursday, 15 August 2013
Hey guys!

Favourite Prince

I only have one favourite Disney Prince. My favourite prince is Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid. He falls in love with Ariel just from hearing her voice. I just love the story of it. I think that they are such a perfect match even though she was a mermaid. I just think everything about the Little Mermaid is perfect.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 2

Hey guys!

I forgot to do the Disney Challenge yesterday so I'm going to do day 2 and 3 today.

Favourite Disney Princess

I have two favourite Disney Princesses. The first is Snow White. I just think she is gorgeous and she was the first Disney Princess. I love her dress and is so kind to all animals. I just love her.

My second Disney princess is Ariel. I just adore her hair. I want mine that length and she is just beautiful. I don't know why but I just love her smile for some reason.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 1

Tuesday, 13 August 2013
Hey guys!

I'm starting the 30 Day Disney Challenge today! Day one is "Favourite movie". I love almost all Disney movies so this one was kind of hard but I narrowed it down to two movies. They are Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

I just love the whole story of Beauty and the Beast. Belle didn't want to stay with the beast but she did it for her father and then she ended up being in love with him. I just think it is so cute and I love Belle's yellow dress.

I also really love The Little Mermaid. I think that Ariel is just beautiful. Most little girls want to be a mermaid and it shows Ariel who wants to be a human so it is different. The whole movie is just amazing. I love all the songs too.

I love my bedroom

Saturday, 13 April 2013
During my midterm break in February, I redecorated my room. I was sick of how it was and I just wanted a change. I really like how it turned out.

I love my duvet cover. I got it cheaply in Primark and I loved it so it was good. I hadn't planned on doing the whole room up but I had to change the curtains and stuff to match the duvet cover. I'm desperate to go to Paris so I like the Eiffel Tower and things on the duvet cover.

My desk

As I said previously, I am desperate to go to Paris. I know it will take me a very long time to save through this but I think it's really pretty to have in my room. I have another savings box but obviously I won't just have a whole pile of notes in full view. My desk is quite empty usually. I just have my iPig, two candles and my Paris fund.

Mario Mushroom

I have a lot of candles on my radiator in my room. I don't always light them but when I do, it makes my room feel really cosy. I bought the 'Relax' sign in Primark for 1.50! Such a bargain. I also have another candle on my window sill. I have a picture of my friend and I aswell. On my window sill, I have a little small figurine of the mushroom from Mario. I love it and I think it's so cute.

My bedside locker doesn't have much on it. Just my alarm clock, a teddy, a photo of me as a child and the book I'm reading at the moment. Right now, I'm rereading my favourite book for the third time.

This is just a small section of my photographs. I have much more to be printed but I haven't had the chance and the photo machine is broken. I have about 15 more pictures to get printed.

I really like my doorstop. I bought it for 7 euro in Primark. I think it's really cute with the little bird.

Teen Aware Concert

I haven't written a blog post in a while! I've been busy with school and stuff. I've got a state exam in June and all the teachers gave so much homework over the Easter break! Anyway, I was at a concert on Friday the 29th of March and it was amazing! It was at Kilbeggan race course and it was outdoor. Maybe the outdoor part wasn't the best idea because it was absolutely freezing! My friends and I was got to the front row at the stage which was great.  We waited for about 2 hours until the music started. Fresh Ré were on first! They are Irish and they are teenagers except for one guy. They were quite good and one of the guys started singing to me and my friend. It was quite awkward but funny.

I'd just like to say, this isn't my picture

Then, Pat Byrne came on. He won The Voice of Ireland in 2012. He came onto the stage and was like "everyone move back. There's a girl at the front who is being squashed". That girl was me. Pat sang loads of
songs and had the craic.

After Pat, Ryan O' Shaughnessy came on. I had high hopes for Ryan but he disappointed me a little. He sang amazingly well but I kind of found him a little boring. I know none of his song are lively but it just seemed to be so slow. He is beautiful though.

Then, a woman came out called Kayleigh. Kayleigh's introduction was about how bullying made her blind. This made me feel really sad and angry how some people would torment a person and make them lose one of their senses. She is an amazing singer.

Na Fianna were on then. I hadn't really expected much from these because they play Irish music but they were quite good. I'm not a big fan of Irish music but they made it sound good. The people in the band were great craic.

Again, not my picture
After them, Hogan came on. I had heard people saying how good they were but I had never seen them myself. I actually love them now! The lead singer is actually hilarious. His dance moves on stage are amazing. He told us all about the band and even told us that they call the guitarist "Kinder Bueno". I'm not sure why though. Hogan really got everybody moving and tried to get us warm.

Hogan's lead singer, Mark

Then Royseven came on. I had heard a few of their popular songs on the radio before and I really liked them. When they came out, I was quite surprised because I didn't realise there was so many members. Of course though, my favourite member was Paul Walsh, the lead singer. He is just fab! He was just going crazy dancing on the stage and it actually warmed me up a bit. Paul then jumped off the stage and came to the barrier. He went almost right beside me so I stretched my hand out to reach him. I "accidentally" touched his ass. I then put my hand up and he high-fived me! This was a cool moment for me! Then the next day, he followed me on twitter and we've tweeted each other a few times! I'm getting down with the celebrities. Well I like to think so.
Sorry for the bad picture! He moved so much

After Royseven, the act I had came to see were on. District 3! I thought they were absolutely fab! They were only on for a short time though which was a bummer. They looked amazing though as usual. My favourite is Dan and he looked so beautiful! He was wearing a beanie, a jumper and army trousers! He even did a backflip during one of the songs. I nearly died when he did.

Micky

Greg

Dan

Last but not least, The Original Rude Boys came on. At that stage, it was 10 o' clock at night and I felt like I was going to collapse or something. My friends and I had been standing there for almost 8 hours and we were freezing. We had been in the same spot that whole time and people from the back were pushing and we were getting squished into the barrier. We eventually just left our spot and listening to the Original Rude Boys from a distance. They were really good and we sat on a bench eating chips while listening.

All in all, it was a great day except for the cold and the people pushing. I also got Pat Byrne to follow me the next day! Still waiting for District 3 to follow me though!

Me going to Teen Aware! I brought a jacket just in case
you thought that was all I wore!
